About Owatonna Online

Owatonna Online is a comprehensive K-12 school open to all students in Minnesota, with no cost to attend.
  • Owatonna Online for grades K-6 provides live, online interaction paired with independent online activities through an Owatonna educator each day. Our teachers have training and experience in teaching both in-person and online.

  • Owatonna Online Elementary Program offers two different paths for families.
Pathway 1 provides families with more flexibility to work through online learning throughout the day at their own pace.
Pathway 2 provides families with a higher level of teacher support in their online learning throughout the day.

  • Students in grades 7-12 will engage in self-paced, flexible learning with goal setting and timelines to ensure successful completion of course requirements.

  • Owatonna Online works alongside students, families, and staff to design a program that works best for every student's individual learning style while adhering to state education requirements.

  • Owatonna Online provides family involvement through frequent communication. At the K-8 level, a home-supported learning coach model is used to support student success.

  • Owatonna Online provides each student with a Chromebook (K-12). We have a robust technology support system to assist with technology needs.

  • Students in Owatonna Online will have access to support services (including social workers, counselors, English language learner teachers, and special education teachers) to meet individualized student needs.

  • Owatonna Online is a state-approved, comprehensive online education provider.
