Learning Coach

Support at home is critical to the success of middle school students in an online setting. Middle school students are encouraged to have a responsible adult to act as a learning coach in the student’s home. The learning coach will help monitor student progress and assist when necessary.

Communication Expectations

Due to the nature of online education, communication is critical to the learning environment. Students are expected to respond to all staff communications with 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. Students may also be expected to attend live, online support sessions with teachers and other support staff. Students should contact their teacher if they need help in a class.

Is Online Learning Right for You?

Being an online learner means you have the flexibility to complete coursework anywhere and at your own pace. This also requires you to manage your own time and make sure you are completing assignments. The most common reason why students do not do well in an online course is because they do not develop a plan for successful time management and task completion. Here are a few questions to ask yourself if choosing to become an online learner.
